Vantage Media’s Michelle Johnson joins the new series of YachtTalk to discuss the top luxury travel trends of 2022
Following Specials in London andMonaco, Heesen Yachts' online series YachtTalk returns to its Dutch studio for three new episodes. In the final episode, Vantage Media’s editorial director Michelle Johnson joins Pelorus founder Geordie MacKay-Lewis to chat experiential travel trends – and why more people than ever are taking to the seas.
Michelle, who is also editor of Vantage’s award-nominated luxury lifestyle magazine Tempus, says travel has changed since the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that people are more eager to experience unique journeys, and travel more purposefully while using convenient options such as private jet travel to avoid the crowds.
While this seems like a contradiction, yachting offers an exciting opportunity in the world of environmental technology development whereby companies are banding together to change policies, develop less damaging propulsion and fuel systems, and investing in ocean conservation in order to ensure the seas are available for their customers.
YachtTalk by Heesen is the first talkshow dedicated to the yachting industry. Filmed in The Netherlands – as well as on location at the Monaco Yacht Show – it is presented by journalist Charlotte Kan. Other episodes in this limited series explore the challenges and opportunities within human resources in yachting, as well as cleaner short-term propulsion solutions.
